- Is there a list of available widgets?
- How difficult is it to create my own widgets?
- I'd like to see widgets that have NeXTstep like look and feel
- Would there be an MS-Windows (sic) implementation that can be compiled?
The vidgets are:
buttons, radio buttons, menus, labels, text fields, sliders, scrollbars,
rectangular regions, lines
Unfortunately, it is not easy to create new vidgets; this requires
making changes throughout the vidget library.
The forthcoming fall release of the library will include Motif-like 3-D
vidgets. We have no plans for alternate looks and feels.
A Windows implementation of the Icon interpreter is in the works; no
work on the compiler is planned. For graphics programs, especially,
it's usually hard to notice a difference in speed.
